Supporting Charities is a fundamental backbone to the choir’s existence. Our performances raise money for local and national charities.
Our concerts are fund-raising opportunities that give us the chance to provide financial support for local and national charities.
And we offer free performances with carol singing at care homes. Each year we sing at Tesco to raise donations to Macmillan Cancer Care. These efforts illustrate that our performances raise money for local and national charities significantly.
This year the generosity of our audiences – to whom we offer heartfelt thanks – has enabled us to provide support for The Holly Gazzard Trust. We also supported the local branches of the Citizens Advice Bureau and Parkinson’s UK. Additionally, we contributed to the Cirencester Opportunity Group and the Oak and Furrows Wildlife Centre.
Coming up this year
Our July Concert will support the Severn Freewheelers Emergency Voluntary Service. This is a free, out of hours charity service delivering blood, human tissue, and other essential medical items between NHS facilities. They operate in Gloucestershire, Herefordshire, North Wiltshire including Swindon & Worcestershire. They are literally life-savers. All riders are volunteers and hold a current Advanced riding qualification. In short, they are a professional team delivering a professional service, FREE to the NHS at the point of use. Our performances raise money for local and national charities, which further showcases our dedication.
Joining us will be the amazing Parti Llwchwr women’s choir from West Wales. We will also have the massed voices of the Morriston RFC male choir.
The evening of our bi-annual Christmas Concert will feature the brilliant Willshire Piano Duo, the Gwalia Singers and of course the Cirencester Male Voice Choir. And there may be a surprise guest! There will be a Christmassy theme, but the night will bring a wide range of songs. James and Pippa Wilshire will captivate, as ever, with four hands on one piano and classical music of the very highest standard.
The concert will be in aid of Longfield Community Hospice. This charity offers a wide range of services providing care and support for people living with or affected by a life-limiting illness.
