Understandably the lockdowns have thrown our Concerts and Events schedule into disarray and we have been forced to cancel a number of performances – some of them more than once!
It has been a hard time for many charities as fund raising has been curtailed or completely cut off, and we are anxious to ‘get back on the road again’ to make a contribution.
We are now able to rehearse together in person and are working hard to get rusty voices back in tune again. Our concert team are reaching out to other choirs and organisations and hope that we will soon be able to put forthcoming events back into the diary. Please bear with us and keep fingers crossed that any restrictions on performances will be entirely lifted.
One item we are confident of highlighting is our attendance at the Cornwall International Male Choral Festival. This brilliant gathering is the largest event of its kind in the world and plays a key part in the development of male choral singing around the world. There will be more than 60 choirs from all parts of the world taking part over 5 days. CMVC will be giving public performances, in exciting venues across the county and finally competing in choirs competition that takes place in Truro Cathedral – one of only three cathedrals in the country with three spires.
Our Concerts and Events Schedule is driven by our mission to raise funds for local charities and to advance the recognition of choral singing across Great Britain.
